MAIN ROLE
As a journeyman electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in industrial, commercial, or institutional facilities. Working independently or in collaboration with the electrical superintendent, the electrician’s mission will be to ensure customer satisfaction and the achievement of project goals.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret diagrams, circuit plans, and electrical code specifications to determine the wiring layout.
- Install electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit breakers.
- Conduct continuity tests using appropriate instruments to ensure circuit compatibility and safety after installation.
- Connect and join cables to devices and components to establish circuits.
- Participate in the electrical installation of new systems.
- Connect the power supply to communication equipment, signaling devices, and heating appliances.
- Perform fault analysis (electrical causes) and suggest measures to correct and improve process efficiency.
- Organize the work plan to ensure the completion of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to timelines.
- Take charge of and assist subcontractors who come on-site to perform work.
- Strictly apply best health and safety practices.
- Complete and properly document work orders.
- Participate in the final inspection on the site.
- High school diploma or vocational training diploma (DEP).
- Valid CCQ competency card.
- General health and safety on construction sites (ASP) course: ATOUT
- SIMDUT 2015 : ATOUT
- Good knowledge of electrical code, local codes and construction safety requirements.
- Good knowledge of electrical power and control.
- Experience on institutional, industrial and/or commercial sites.
