Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, the Manufacturing Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and rigorous follow-up of shop fabrication projects (pumping skids, modular units, combustion systems). The role acts as the central link between the client, the design department, and the production team to ensure that each project is delivered according to specifications, timelines, and approved budgets.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Kickoff

  • Review fabrication documentation upon receipt of customer orders.

  • Develop production schedules and define critical milestones.

  • Coordinate kickoff meetings with production teams and procurement to ensure raw materials availability.

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Monitor daily progress of shop-floor activities.

  • Manage priorities and adjust schedules based on unforeseen issues or last-minute changes.

  • Ensure deliverables comply with contractual requirements and Thermotech quality standards.

Financial and Administrative Management

  • Track project budgets (labor and materials).

  • Approve supplier invoices related to assigned projects.

  • Prepare progress reports and document scope changes (change orders).

Communication and Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and external project managers regarding fabrication status.

  • Work closely with technical designers to validate the manufacturability of drawings.

  • Coordinate final logistics with the shipping department for on-site delivery.

Required Skills

  • Project Management: Proficiency with planning tools (MS Project, advanced Excel) and application of production management principles (Lean, Kanban, etc.).

  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret mechanical and piping drawings.

  • Work Organization: Manage multiple projects simultaneously with rigor and efficiency.

  • Team Leadership: Communicate effectively with skilled trades (welders, assemblers, electricians), clients, professionals, and suppliers.

  • Problem Solving: Proactive mindset with a strong sense of urgency.

Experience and Education

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in production management engineering, building mechanics, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (integrated inventory and project management).

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
